Growing up in California in the 60’s with a love of music and surfing, Greg Reuter started his career as an artist in Hawaii where he went to graduate school and received an MFA in sculpture and ceramics from the University of Hawaii. After graduation he worked for a time as a studio potter both in Washington state and California. In 1978 Greg moved to Texas and began teaching at Corpus Christi State University (now Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi).

For the last 15 years Greg’s sculpture has revolved around the Padre Island National Seashore using the beach as his studio. Recently he has worked on a series of iron sculptures cast in Houston at the Keen Foundry.

Shown nationally and internationally, his work is represented in numerous public and private art collections including the Art Museum of South Texas. Greg has lectured in Germany, Mexico, Japan, and the United States. His sculpture was used in the Hollywood film D.O.A., in which Greg made several brief appearances. Greg lives and works in Corpus Christi, Texas.
